Absa Bank Kenya, in partnership with global digital payments leader Visa, has unveiled a new business credit card designed to support the growth and financial flexibility of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
The newly launched Absa Business Credit Card aims to enhance transactional efficiency, streamline expense management, and provide MSMEs with improved access to working capital. Announced during the 2025 Absa SME Business Forum in Nairobi—under the theme “Innovation for Growth: Unlocking Kenya’s Enterprise Potential”—the card offers interest-free credit periods ranging from 20 to 50 days and a suite of digital tools for business oversight.
“This card is tailored to meet the evolving needs of our business customers,”
said Elizabeth Wasunna-Ochwa, Director of Business Banking at Absa Bank.
“Through this partnership with Visa, we are delivering a pioneering solution that enables business and corporate customers to manage their finances more efficiently, access international services, and digitally transform their operations.”
The card provides 24/7 global emergency support and integrates digital features such as real-time expense tracking and reporting dashboards. Users will also benefit from partnerships with over 40 service providers—including Google Workspace, Shopify, and DocuSign—helping businesses cut costs on essential tools.

Hon. Susan Mang’eni, Principal Secretary in the State Department for MSME Development, hailed the move as a significant step toward resolving persistent financing barriers facing small businesses.
“MSMEs need affordable, secure, and flexible financial products to thrive,”
she said.
“This launch marks a turning point in the sector’s journey toward greater competitiveness and sustainability.”
According to John Njoroge, Visa’s Country Manager for Kenya, the partnership aligns with Visa’s mission to promote inclusive and secure digital payment ecosystems.
“We believe this solution will open up new opportunities for MSMEs, allowing them to manage their expenses better, grow sustainably, and participate more fully in the global economy,”
he said.
Beyond working capital, the card supports a variety of business transactions, including travel and office expenses, fleet and trade payments, and purchases of software—especially valuable for tech-driven enterprises.
The Absa Business Credit Card is being rolled out across all markets where Absa Group operates, positioning it as a key financial tool for enterprises with regional or international operations.
