Airtel Kenya has launched a new data bundle dubbed ‘Bazu’ that will allow its customers to enjoy more data for less.
This comes in the wake of increased demand for internet connectivity for business, education and entertainment across the country.
The new offer dubbed ‘Bazu data bundle’ will give customers the opportunity to get more data at no extra cost for their monthly options.
The new offering will include the Bazu 500 bundle, which allows customers to enjoy 7.5GB worth of data, allocated as 250MB per day.
The Bazu 1000 bundle will give customers 1GB daily which will amount to 30GB at the end of the month, and the Bazu 2000 bundle will give customers 90GB allocated as 3GB daily. Customers will need to dial *544# to subscribe.
In a statement, Airtel’s Managing Director, Prasanta Das Sarma said;

This complements our network expansion exercise, where we have rolled out high speed 4G network countrywide. Recent statistics by the industry regulator, Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) have shown an upward trajectory of mobile subscriptions across the country, which stands at 64.4 million as at 30th June 2021, up from 62 million as at 31st March 2021. (CA Fourth Quarter Sector Statistics, April-June 2021).
The increase in mobile subscriptions has been attributed to the reactivation of SIM cards especially during the schools’ closure due to the pandemic, as well as data promotions that ran during the same period.
The increasing demand for internet use continues to be fueled by the hybrid work systems that allow for work from home options, e-commerce, and increased access to entertainment on mobile devices as well as digitization of government services.
