Leading real estate developer, Mizizi Africa Homes Limited has handed over its flagship project consisting of housing units to the respective investors. Dubbed Penguin Estate, the project is arguably an exceptionally high Return on Investment comprising of sixteen units of three Bedroom Bungalows master en-suite.
Located on Kenyatta road, at exit 14, Off the Thika Super Highway in Kiambu County, the newly completed Penguin Estate which were sold at Ksh 3.25 million in 2019 are now reselling for up to Ksh 6.5 million. The developer, speaking at the handover event noted that it is through God’s grace that the company had managed to complete the project on time despite the economic hardships occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Mizizi Africa Homes Limited is just one year old and we are delivering on promise, it all began as a dream but you all can today see the reality. We thank all our customers who believed in us and believed we could deliver even when this estate where we stand today was all but a bush. I am more than proud to stand before you today to witness your dreams of owning a home come true,’
said an emotional Peter Mwangi who is a Director at the firm.
The Penguin Estate units are sold out and the firm is already on its second, third, fourth and fifth projects which they plan to handover in coming months. Penguin Estate; the flagship gated community project by Real Estate Developer Mizizi Africa Homes Limited is preceded by Heritage estate, Peacock Estate, Hummingbird Court and the recently introduced Pigeon Estate all on Kenyatta Road, at exit 14, Off the Thika Super Highway.
Commissioned mid last year and with a promise to be completed in less than a year, Mizizi Africa Homes Limited has not only beat the odds but delivered homes to 16 families as it seeks to push to greater heights President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda on Housing.
Mizizi Africa Homes Limited Chief Executive Officer Mr. George Mburu hailed the good job executed by his staff. He added that this was just the beginning of many more to come.
‘We have started on a positive note, off plan developers throughout the country and even beyond have left many investors in disarray and confusion after embezzling their hard earned money. This has demoralised many who would wish to own a home affordably from investing. As Mizizi Africa Homes Limited, we are here to change that narrative and rewrite history,’
said the CEO.
Hundreds of unsuspecting Kenyans have in the recent past been swindled after making payments for off plan housing. The construction industry has thus faced a backlash resulting from criticism. Despite the negative publicity, industry experts maintain that off plan property purchasing is still the most preferred mode of owning a home due to the flexibility of the terms and its affordability especially among the middle class and first time home owners.
Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) for Kiambu County Mr. Abdi S. Godana who graced the occasion noted that it is through honest and reliable developers such as Mizizi Africa Homes that the country will achieve the affordable housing agenda.
‘ We have been dealing with many conmen in the real estate development industry. Today I am happy to be on the right side of history. It feels good to be here to witness house owners receive their houses instead of being here to arrest a fraudulent developer. It is high time developers emulated the good example shown by Mizizi Africa Homes Limited today and deliver houses as promised,’
said Mr. Godana.
The handing over ceremony which coincided with the world environment day celebrated on the 19th of September every year saw leaders present urge wananchi to plant more trees and participate in environment conservation projects.
‘As you can see, this development is in the middle of an area with very good tree coverage, as we celebrate World Environment Day, I wish to urge us all to continue planting trees and conserving the environment for a sustainable future,’
said ACC Godana.
