Police in Nairobi have launched a manhunt for a mechanic who has since gone into hiding after allegedly conning his client cash meant for purchase of car spare parts.
The Kitui based mechanic by the name Justus Otieno had landed a job in Nairobi to repair a client’s car but ended up obtaining by false pretense Ksh31,000 that was handed to him for purchase of spare parts.
While narrating his ordeal , the victim said that he got suspicious after the mechanic took too long to return after leaving to a nearby spare parts shop to purchase the said spares.
Luckily, the cash had been sent to his phone number, however upon reaching him on his phone number 0751479373 the mechanic kept on changing goalposts and giving excuses prompting the victim to report the matter to Savannah police officers stationed at Donholm Estate.
” Its at this time, when he took too long to return with the spare parts that I realised I had been conned,”
narrated the victim.
Reported under OB number 27/1/12/23 at 1755 hrs, the mechanic is now a wanted man by police.
The mechanic’s other phone number is +254 115244246. Police are asking the general public who may know the whereabouts of the mechanic to report to the nearest police station.
