Developer promises title deeds in 3 months as digital registration delays ownership

Leading housing property Company; Erdemann properties limited, has urged its clients to be patient as it finalizes the registration of land tittle deeds.
Through its Sales and Marketing Manager Michael Olanya, Erdemann properties limited while responding to complaints of delay of registration of title deeds said there has been problems at the Ministry of Lands  associated with the newly established digital land registration system.

Speaking to members of the press at Finance House Nairobi, Mr Olanya told the home owners that the management is concerned with the challenges surrounding the lease agreements of Great-Wall gardens estates in Athi River and they are working on resolving the same.

“Already fifty land tittle deeds have been registered and the rest will be complete in about three months,”

said Olanya.

According to him, there has been problems with the digital registration at the ministry of land that caused the delay and cancellation of some tittle deeds.
He added that the titles that had already been registered had to undergo a new process to meet the new digital technology requirements.

“We have gone through the processes that are required and soon we shall complete and surrender deeds to the rightful owners,”

Olanya added.

The company’s properties manager Victor Odera urged the home owners to be patient because they are working hard to solve the lease agreement challenges.

The company is spearheading President Kenyatta’s Big four agenda among them being to provide Kenyans with affordable housing.
The President promised to make each Kenyan a home owner.
He intends to have over 500,000 Kenyans owning their own homes by the end of his term.

According to Kenyatta, this will be done by reducing the cost of mortgages, raising low cost funds in both private and public for investment in large scale house construction and cutting the cost of construction by use of innovative ways and materials.

He further promised to continue issuing more title deeds adding that this plan will ensure that more people are employed.
It is targeting to build 7000 units by the year 2021.
