Homeboyz Announce Ksh. 7.5 Million Prescott Cup Sponsorship
Homeboyz Entertainment Limited CEO Myke Rabar has announced the company’s Ksh. 7.5 Million sponsorship of the Prescott Cup. Following the sponsorship the tournament will now be known as Homeboyz Prescott Cup for the next three years.
“We are very keen on leading empowerment through sports by enabling young people to develop and grow in the areas they are skilled and passionate in. If we start at an early age we can be assured to get positive results and that’s why we’ve come to the school level,”
During the event held at St.Mary’s School NairobiRabar also announced that they would be rolling out an academic sponsorship program to students picked from the Prescott Cup. 10 scholarships will be given a year through Homeboyz.
“Scholarships for us is key because we want to emphasize on the importance of education so we’ve partnered with some institutions to offer scholarships to these outstanding players,”
The 2018 Prescott Cup will see the introduction of festivals where selected schools will host a round of matches. Nairobi Scholl will host the first festival on Saturday May 12, Lenana School will host second festival on May 26 while the venue for the third festival is yet to be confirmed.
Rift Valley Academy will host all the semifinals. Up to 30 schools will take part in this year’s competition which has been organized by a committee selected by the schools.
“This is a great step for the tournament and we have great plans for the future. We are planning to send a select team from the competition to the annual Craven week tournament in South Africa next year,”
said Mwangi Karimi of Alliance High who chairs the organizing committee.
