Kenya Power hands over Classrooms to Bishop Odera School
Kenya Power handed over three classrooms at Bishop Odera Mixed Secondary School in Migori County. The project is part of the Company’s strategy to improve the livelihood of communities it operates in.
The project, which started in February 2019 and completed in August 2019, was in response to the appeal of Bishop Odera school officials who were then confronted with challenges of an increasing student population and the deteriorating state of classrooms.
Speaking during the commissioning of the classrooms that cost Kshs. 2.32 million, Kenya Power Ag. Regional Manager, South Nyanza Mr. John Guda said that the value in consistently improving the learning environment for students is key in ensuring young people receive a quality education.
“We are happy that this project will improve the school and strengthen the education ecosystem to deliver quality learning for all,” said Mr. John Guda. “It is in these educational institutions that we see the future engineers, scientists, and mechanics.”
The school’s Principal Mrs. Hellen Omollo welcomed the initiative noting that the classrooms will improve overall school performance
