Raila Odinga to be sworn in as president of Kenya on 12th December 2017
NASA leader Raila Odinga has announced that he will be sworn-in as President on December 12th 2017.While addressing NASA supporters in Embakasi East constituency, Odinga maintained that he and running mate honorable Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka won the August 8th presidential election thus they will take oath office.
Raila Odinga said the newly formed resistance movement NRM will hold a People’s Assembly on December 12th, 2017 during which he will be sworn in and proceed to occupy State House.
Odinga further said the duo of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto who were sworn in today at a ceremony held at the Kasarani stadium were illegitimately in office.
“Uhuru ni Rais bandia…Tulisema wakiapisha, tutaapisha, The People’s Assembly convention in Nairobi will swear me in on December 12th…”
Soon after his remarks, the crowd he was addressing was swiftly dispersed by police using teargas canisters. The police went further to beat supporters with their batons injuring a number of youth and women.
12th of December in Kenya’s calendar marks independence day, the country will be celebrating 54 years since independence this year on this day. This announcement according to political analysts could trigger treason charges against Odinga.
