Top Managers at the Land-rover, Jaguar and BMW official distributors in Kenya are allegedly harassing local employees, www.thetruth.co.ke has established.
Employees at the high-end automotive distributor- Inchcape, are upset by what they have termed as bullying and harassment by the foreign top managers.
According to sources the employees feel intimidated and mistreated and are now labeling their workstation as a toxic work environment.
A former inchcape employee, who spoke to www.thetruth.co.ke on condition of anonymity revealed that the Russian Managing Director, Julia Vershinskaya, and the Ethiopian Finance Director, Dawit Desta, have continously harassed staff in disregard of labour laws.
It is also alleged that these managers have questionable academic qualifications and are thus not fit for the positions they currently hold adding to the employees’ frustrations.
In the last two months, at least 5% of the workforce has been forced out following frustrations by the top managers. Consequently, the company’s performance has suffered, as workers go on a go-slow as rumours circulate that the managers are plotting to import workforce to replace the Kenyan employees.
