The students were beneficiaries of the 2020 4-year scholarship cohort and were selected from 31 counties countrywide.

“As a Foundation, we firmly believe that every child must have access to quality education. This is a tool they can use to open doors of opportunities and economically empower themselves. Congratulations to these students as they have shown great resilience and commitment to excel in their examinations. They are the future generation of changemakers, and we will continue to support them as they move to the next level,”

said The Family Group Foundation Executive Director John Waimiri.

The next step for these students before their admission into tertiary education is through our post high school pathways which links them to existing opportunities through various strategic partners such as HELB, business coaching and mentorship, career progression opportunities such as internship and work placements through Family Bank among other opportunities.

The Tufuzu na Elimu programme supports bright but needy students from 34 counties around the country, as of 2024. The scholarship caters for tuition, uniforms, accommodation, school uniforms and upkeep for the beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries also receive soft-skills training through annual Mentorship Workshops and Academic Boot Camps.

Family Bank through the Family Group Foundation set aside KES 90 million for this year’s scholarship to benefit 352 students from 34 counties and 66 constituencies.

This programme has impacted over 1,200 beneficiaries countrywide through an investment of over KES 300 million in the education sector since its inception.
