Webuye West constituency set for by-election as court nullifies Jubilee’s Wanyama win

Webuye West constituency could be headed back to the ballot soon as MP Hon Dan Wanyama’s win was earlier today declared null and void by the High court in Bungoma.

Hon Wanyama, whose 2013 win was upheld by the same court after he was accused of electoral malpractices has found himself on the receiving end this time round.

Hon Wanyama’s win had been challenged after it was claimed he was a computer generated Member of Parliament as Webuye West  constituents had not voted in his favour. Western Kenya, which is perceived as an opposition stronghold produced a record 8 members of Parliament all of whom are in court battling petitions filed by opponents.

DP William Ruto is received by Hon Wanyama at a past political meeting in Bungoma county.
