Youth want expelled MP barred from accessing Parliament
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has been petitioned by irate youth to bar nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi from accessing Parliament.
The youths led by ANC party National youth league Chair Junior Omulo, said that Osotsi is no longer an MP since ANC had expelled him from the party and therefore should not be allowed into Parliament.
Omulo said that , if the Speaker of the national Assembly continues to allow Osotsi to access Parliament, they will camp outside Parliament buildings naked until they are heard.
The young Turks speaking to thetruth.co.ke,have directed the former secretary general of ANC party to respect the National Executive Committee after it recommended he be expelled from the party.
They also said he should respect ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and leave the party peacefully.
The development comes barely a week after the party’s NEC recommended his expulsion.
Last Wednesday, the party notified the Registrar of Political Parties that the nominated MP was no longer its member.
According to sources, ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka has already notified the Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi and Clerk Michael Sialai that ANC had kicked out the MP and he should be locked out of Parliament.
In a letter to the Registrar of Political Parties, ANC now wants Osotsi’s name struck out of the party’s register.
“The party belongs to the members and it is not a personal entity, we know that Mudavadi remains our leader and we will not allow Osotsi to carry out any party activities. He should know that he has lost his position as MP since he is no longer our party member”
