Local News

Kenyans have vowed full support to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in its sustained war against crime in the country.

Equally, the agency has expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support it receives from the public through the sharing of valuable information in fighting crime.

Accordingly, the agency’s Director Mr. Mohamed Amin has revealed that the crucial information has led to the apprehension of suspects and has played a crucial role in enhancing the safety and security of the nation.

This act is a demonstration of their patriotic duty, as safety and security is a collective responsibility,”

Amin observed.

The spymaster encouraged Kenyans to persist in the commendable endeavor for the greater peace and prosperity of the country.

He pointed out that the public played a major role that saw the DCI ranked top in Africa.

A recent research survey placed Kenya’s DCI top on the list of most effective criminal investigations departments in the continent, Ghana and Uganda coming in the second and third positions respectively.

To encourage sharing information about crime and criminals, the agency introduced Fichua kwa DCI, a free 24/7 hotline number for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya.

The number is 0800 722 203.

Recently, the campaign for the #FichuakwaDCI hotline number 0800 722 203 received a major boost, following the overwhelming support of the US Embassy in Nairobi that donated 1,800 branded reflector jackets.

The donation came in handy to complement other visibility enhancement approaches adopted by the DCI, geared towards promoting sharing of information on crime & criminals in an endeavour to realize a safer, secure and crime-free nation,”

Amin added.

The DCI Hotline Center was officially opened on 10th December, 2020 by Mr James Duddridge, the Minister for Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), UK.

The office is manned by a team of vetted multilingual officers, who receive and analyze information from anonymous callers before forwarding the same to the responsible units for action.
