Family Bank Opens 96th Branch in Kilifi, Expands Coastal Presence

Banking & Finance

Family Bank has opened a new branch in Kilifi County, marking its 96th branch nationwide and its ninth in Kenya’s coastal region, as part of efforts to grow its retail and SME banking presence.

The new branch, located at Kilifi Plaza, will offer a full range of services including asset finance, SME and women-focused banking products, trade finance, loan facilities, and digital banking options.

According to Family Bank Chief Executive Officer Nancy Njau, the move is in response to growing demand for financial services in the region, particularly among small and medium-sized businesses.

“Kilifi’s expanding economy presents an opportunity for us to support local entrepreneurs and businesses,”

Njau said.

“This expansion is part of our broader strategy to increase financial access while positioning Family Bank as the go-to bank for biashara.”

The Kilifi opening comes as the bank rolls out its 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, which includes strengthening its physical network and launching SME-specific hubs that blend branch services with digital platforms.
