Family Bank Relocates Ngara Branch to Boost Accessibility and Support for SMEs

Banking & Finance

Family Bank has relocated its Ngara Branch to a new, strategically positioned site on the ground floor of the Blue Hut Hotel on Park Road. The move is aimed at improving service delivery and expanding access to financial services for local businesses and residents in the bustling Ngara area.

The new location is designed to offer enhanced convenience, security, and accessibility for the Bank’s growing customer base, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), individual traders, and residents in and around the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) and the greater Starehe sub-county.

“Ngara has emerged as a vital commercial hub, driven by vibrant small-scale traders and wholesalers. Relocating our branch positions us to better support this economic activity by bringing our services closer to where they are most needed,”

said Family Bank Chief Executive Officer Nancy Njau.

The relocated branch offers a full suite of modern banking services, including tailored financial products for SMEs, youth- and women-led enterprises, as well as access to digital banking solutions. Customers can also benefit from face-to-face consultations with banking professionals and customized financial advice aimed at supporting business growth and personal financial planning.

“This relocation aligns with our mission to provide customer-focused financial solutions and to empower communities through accessible banking. We’re investing not just in a physical space but in the local economy,”

Njau added.

The Ngara branch upgrade is part of Family Bank’s broader strategy to optimize its branch network to better meet customer needs in emerging and underserved markets. As the bank prepares for a planned listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) in 2026, it continues to expand its footprint across urban and rural Kenya, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive financial growth.

Family Bank has indicated that additional branch openings and strategic relocations are on the horizon, all aimed at delivering seamless and responsive banking services to a wider customer base.
