Airtel Kenya Surpasses 24 Million Subscribers Amid Ongoing Network Expansion

Corporate News

Airtel Kenya has officially surpassed 24 million subscribers, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to expand network coverage across the country.

The achievement, confirmed in the latest sector statistics report by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), highlights Airtel’s growing footprint and the increasing public trust in its services—particularly in underserved and remote areas.

Speaking at the launch of the telco’s new coverage campaign, Na Bado Tunagrow, Airtel Kenya Managing Director Ashish Malhotra expressed gratitude for the customer support that has propelled the company to this milestone.

“We are deeply humbled by the support of over 24 million customers who continue to believe in us,”

Malhotra said.

“This is not the destination—it’s part of a longer journey. We remain committed to enriching lives and driving progress across the country.”

Airtel has invested heavily in expanding its infrastructure, including improvements in network reach, customer service, and distribution channels. Its mobile money platform, Airtel Money, has also played a key role in enhancing financial inclusion, particularly in regions that have historically lacked access to digital financial services.

The company’s network upgrades in the North Eastern counties of Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa have brought much-needed connectivity to communities that had long been underserved.

“With the recent upgrade of our Airtel Money platform, which now offers faster, more reliable, and more innovative services, we are seeing a surge in customer trust,”

Malhotra added.

The Na Bado Tunagrow campaign—Swahili for “We’re Still Growing”—serves both as a celebration of Airtel’s progress and a pledge to continue expanding its digital services to all corners of Kenya.

“This is a thank you to every Kenyan who has supported our journey,”

said Malhotra.

“We are not done. We will continue to grow, improve, and serve—Na bado tunagrow.”
